Description

An event organized and produced by Murobushi

Manifesto of Butoh of the outside

The experiments of Ankoku Butoh began with “a roll of the dice.”

Half a century has passed, and now after all this time, the dice must be rolled, thrown to the <outside>, repeatedly.

What is the <outside>? It is the impossibility of staying <now and here> where we are now, which passes (and transforms itself) as soon as we indicate the <now and here>, and the (predetermined) present that cannot continue existing; somewhere we are unable to be. It is a personless person, a placeless place = non-place (non lien) where the body and dance stand at the risk of their lives.

It is the transformation = formation = anti-formation of the meaninglessness, which is called <anti-realization> by the French philosopher Gilles Deleuze.

To extricate a body from the restraint of meaning and system—it opens a way to madness and distraughtness, exposing the self and body to the repetition and wandering of the terminal present.

Now!
